Because people do judge books by their covers. From typography and layout to full jacket spreads and series work, the aim is always the same: find the simplest way of expressing what a book is, without getting in its way.

No book exists in isolation. On a shelf or in an online grid, it's surrounded by other covers all competing to be noticed. The answer isn't to shout louder. It's to be clear, confident and right at first glance.
